Chill Out Global Warming

Will computer use lead to a significant increase in global warming?

Computers are just one of the things we use every day that can contribute to global warming. Don't stop doing your homework, but do turn off the computer when it's not in use. Setting computers, monitors and other home office equipment to sleep-mode can save a lot of energy, and it also prevents unnecessary wear especially for monitors. Turn them all the way off if you are not going to use them for an extended period of time and when not using your computer for brief periods of time you can always turn off the monitor, thereby saving energy without losing your work or having to reboot. For computer scanners, printers and other devices use a power strip that can be switched off after shutting down your computer.
